The Arnold's Go To Washington! (Plus a Barney)

So my uncle is retiring from the military after 20+ years in the Army!  Him and his family are such a great example of sacrifice and service!! Believe me they ALL served in a different way!

The only bad thing was that Drew could not come with us :(  This was the first time we have ever been apart and it was for a WHOLE WEEK!  We made it through :)

We started our trip by venturing in the metro!

Then we were off to the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery.  Since my uncle worked in the pentagon, we were able to get a private tour! There are no pictures allowed in the Pentagon, but the boys were able to get their haircut!! Once in a lifetime opportunity, I think yes!

The Next day we were on our own and we went to Mount Vernon and ventured around the capital!

Our First Camping Trip!

So Drew, myself and a couple of our married friends went camping!  It was super fun and it was my first time camping in the wilderness!  There were no bathrooms or anything!

Later that night we went SQUATCH hunting!  Had a few close calls and heard some 'interesting' noises, but no spotting this night! Overall it was a great trip and I am officially converted to the camping way :)

So Drew and I were on a bike ride and we saw a cat, so OF COURSE we had to catch it!  And we saw that it belonged to the Rexburg Animal Shelter.

So, we called and brought the kitty back to the shelter :)  Would I say that we are heroes? No, but you can :P Hehehe!

Our Fun Weekend!! 3/20-3/22/12

Drew and I had a particularly fun and packed weekend a couple of weeks ago and I thought that I would share it with all of you!!  It started with our date night on Friday :)  I planned an indoor golf course with homemade pizza and then off to the Drive-in movie theater!

Then, it was off to the drive-in!  We get to watch two movies for the price of one!! We saw Mirror Mirror and the Hunger Games! Both were good movies, but Drew fell asleep during the Hunger Games.

Ok so half way through the Hunger Games I saw what I thought were owls flying over the screen! Then, all the sudden there was a HUGE flying thing over the screen! I freaked out!! Drew was asleep and for some reason my thoughts went straight to 'there's a Night Fury!!!' like from the movie How To Train Your Dragon.  Now, you have to remember that it was very late and I obviously wasn't thinking correctly.  But, after about 5 more 'night fury's' flew by I realized that they were night hang gliders! :)

On to Saturday!!  Drew and I had a GREAT day!!! We biked for about 6 hours that day!! It was super fun :)  We went everywhere in Rexburg!!  I learned that I loved biking!! And I received a scholarship for school!!

So I love pinwheels!! And we found some shaped like tulips(also love!) so we each got one, I got blue and drew got yellow! We stuck them in our bicycle handles :) They spin while we ride! Hehe love them!!

Easter and California Vacation!

Drew and I started our Easter Celebration by dying Easter eggs!! It was super fun!

Easter and our spring break vacation was Uh-mazing!! Exactly what we needed after a stressful school semester and finals!

At Megan's Softball game!! She did great!!

We started out by stopping in Provo for the Easter weekend.  It was so fun! We were able to spend some good quality time with my grandparents and the rest of my family!  And it was super fun to be able to see how Megan lives her softball dream at BYU!  We also had our Easter Egg Hunt with Megan's whole Softball team in the BYU Softball Stadium!!

Then Drew and I were off to California!!  We got to spend some good time with Drew's family and meet the newest member Baby Eloden!!  On our first day down we had a double date with Heather and her boyfriend, Adam!  We went down to the beach and saw the tide pools, super cool!! Can't believe I lived in California all my life and have never been down there!!

We had such a good time in California!! We got to see my grandparents at their house for the last time before they move and got a ton of fruit!!! So great!  We also got to go to the temple with all of Drew's family and have a fun family barbeque!!  And one of the coolest and weirdest things was seeing my sister Jessica pregnant!! And I felt her baby boy kick!! It was CRAZY!!!

All in all we had a great time on Spring break, but we are happy to be back in our own home!

Lately!

      School is FINALLY starting to finishing up and finals are coming!!! Dun dun dunnnnnnnnn!! :/
So, I thought I would put a random stuff post up cause I have been slacking a tad in this whole blog thing :)  I think I am going to start with the sad :(  So earlier in the month we had Taylor Karzen over for dinner and I had been sick during the week, but was feeling great on Sunday.  Drew, however, was starting to get a little bit of the bug on Sunday, but nothing too serious...we thought.  So in the middle of dinner, Drew went to lie down cause he said he was feeling pretty icky.  I didn't think too much of it until he called me in to take his temperature and it was 101!! So I gave him some medicine and went back to chatting with Taylor Karzen.  About 30 minutes later Drew called me back in and now his temperature was 102!  So I called our friend's Steve and Kelly Boyd to come give Drew a blessing cause the medicine wasn't getting his fever down and it just kept getting higher!  So Steve, Kelly and one of their friends rushed over and gave Drew the blessing, I was soooo grateful!!! They were seriously life savers cause I was freaking out!  Then right after they left, I decided to take Drew to the hospital cause he was shivering and shaking, my poor hubby :(  Luckily, there was like no one there at the hospital!! They took him back right away and did a bunch of tests and finally his fever went down!!  We were there for about 2ish hours and when we left Drew was feeling so much better and he spent the week in bed getting better :)

    Next in the randomness is.... DREW'S CUTE TRAINING DATE NIGHT!!

  Drew and his family are campers, my family not so much!! Camping for us is a hotel without room service or a nearby Del Taco! hehe!! So Drew decided that he needed to start out slow and small with this whole camping thing :)  You know, before the outdoors!  We set up a tent in our living room!! 

    And I made my very first foil dinner and we had smores and jiffy pop!  And in the morning we made omelets in a bag!!! It was a lot of fun!!

It was a good camping time!!
